Kid learning to sew

When we were in nova Scotia, I was focusing on sewing the tooth fairy bags. Rafael was quite interested and wanted to learn how to sew.

A few little tips and some guidance and he picked it up like a pro. He said,"this is so easy. it's just up down, up down." Yes, I guess it is.

He went on to sew 2 more little flannel bags, just for the fun of it. It really helped one night when he was SUPER HYPER. He went in his room and sewed and came out normal again. Good life lessons this.

And so we continued sewing, of sorts the next morning before clearing the breakfast dishes away. They cut up straws and threaded them and hearts from the Martha Stewart punch to make a necklace.

I'm sick at the moment. A wicked, stuff up, drippy nose, shriveled lips, pounding head and ears, cold extremities and warm body and burning face. Yup, I got it good.

Wanna come and play?

been busy

Sorry I've been absent all week.. here's why:

EDITED: the tree is from IKEA. I bought a black one on sale ages ago and thought they were discontinued, but found this green and other colours a few months ago. So they may still carry them.

I'm doing a yard sale, festival tomorrow in Cabbage town. My friend's mother in law lives there, so we're setting up shop on the front lawn.
Some girlie flowers

These tooth fairy bags are from http://www.purlbee.com

I used my own tooth from a wooden tooth fairy box I have. I also used it in the past for my other tooth fairy kits on the shrink art. The paper tooth is from Quickutz.

And more take out hot beverage sleeves. Here is the boy line. Was so excited about some of the prints I got in Dartmouth, NS at Atlantic Fabric. Awesome fabrics. Click image for a larger view.

I think this one is my favorite

So wish me well. Singing for a wedding in the morning, then off to stand and chat. And hopefully sell.

visit to the dentist and a kit

Hello there...
I've been in mass production mode to make 10 dental kits for my dentist. I've added a few things to my tooth fairy kit. This is the boy version. Here goes....

Card was made with Quickutz sentiment and tooth, Nestabilities oval and Cuttlebug tiny mosaic embossing folder and Taken with Teal SU paper.

Tooth tin was Lee valley tin, ribbon adhered with sticky strip, and tooth charm shrink art. I have a wooden box in the shape of a tooth and traced it before shrinking it. The tag was something I made up on the computer and punched with Marvy uchida scallop oval.

The key chain was a last minute addition. I still have to find some loops or hooks or something better than the ribbon. Same paper as the card and I used the half of the punch from SU and stamped, "I brush daily" with snap stamps. Ok, I know, I really stamped, Dailey. I'll fix it. I knew it wasn't correct as I was doing it. I know a composer here in town and her last name is Daley. I was getting mixed up. Ever write or say a word and it just looks ridiculous after awhile? the first time it ever happened to me, I was in grade 5 or 6. It was the word tights. as in leggings. Go ahead, say it. over and over and over. lol k, I'm blaming my nuttiness today on the heat.

I could do a better job matching the tin colours to the paper colours, but didn't realize it until after it was done. The girl one will feature a bella and be better coordinated. Pink, is pink, is pink. lol

Thanks for looking and yes, you may leave a comment.

tooth fairy kits

I thought I had uploaded this already, but I couldn't find it in the side bar. So forgive me if you've seen this here before. And tell me where it is! lol

This kit contains a tin from Lee Valley. The tooth fairy is from Stamping Bella. It is also done on shrink art for the charm.

The charm for the boy kit is a tooth I traced from a wooden tooth box I had. There is only 1 charm per kit.
On the opposite side of the scallop tag, there is an info section:
Name, where, what tooth, how it came out, date, etc.

Thanks for looking,
