Sarah's Birthday ensemble

I had a great birthday yesterday. It started out with mucho rain and a drive to Stamping Bella with 2 friends. My friend and upline, Sarah, (www.sarahiscrafty.com) made this great bday hat for me. I had to wear it in the store. We had a laugh and I was a little embarrassed. I'm really a quiet, shy type. hmm hmm.

Emily sure does know how to shop. She has another load of new shtuff! Velvet brads and paper, demos on the big shot die cutting machine, bling, bling, bling, bellas, not bellas, you name it. She got it in that little space. They're gonna have to expand again.:}

Then I came home, prepared myself for my "surprise" birthday party. My husband organized it at a friend's house, but I found out about it before the day. I think the biggest surprise though, was that no one was there when I showed up!! HAHA. Joke's on me. What can I say, all my friends have children. Have you ever made it on time when you have children?
The sun came out, the wind made an appearance and everyone had a great time. The kids were busy and and everyone was fed and watered. Thanks hon.

Sarah also made a matching card for the hat. Cute eh?

I have a bunch of projects to do and new toys to play with. Just waiting for some time to experiment.

Lady in Red

Another bella for ya. In red. Flowahbella. Retired Cerise DP from Stampin' Up! I paper pieced her dress. If I had to do it over, I would add a bigger piece of ribbon to the strip in the middle.

Hope you had a great Easter. I've been singing in church for 4 days and rehearsals before that. So I'm glad the christ has risen and can stay home tomorrow with my family. yeah. no plans or appointments. Hope to make a little trip to the dollar store, take in a walk and of course, a little trip to my stamp room.

Thanks for looking,
Amanda

the bellas continue

Here are a few more bellas I've been working on. After revisiting my bella collection, I've decided that I need more. Have you seen all the new lines that Emily at Stamping Bella has out. Cute stuff. Love the girlie and her elephant series.
This peekaboo cosmobella is a one off. Too time consuming lining everything up. But I'm glad I continued with it.
And the cosmobella and flowahbella are on a simple layout. No embellishments or anything. Now that was hard. I like the clean-ness of the card.

Flowahbella

How about a little spring-like card for the freshly fallen snow.
It is Flowahbella from Stampingbella.

LOVE this paper, so I made a box to go with it. Colour combination is gorge.
Still haven't stamped. But I did take a trip to Michael's and got a few Easter stamps. Yes, I haven't started Valentine's yet, but they were soo cute.

Maybe I'll stamp tomorrow.....

da beer boys

My husband has resigned from his job of 10 years to take one with steady day shift and weekends off! did you hear me shout whoohoo!!
Anyhow, he wanted a thank you card for his work mates. Since most of them are beer swillin', car lovers, thought this might be appropriate!

Image is from Stamping Bella. I masked the 1st one. Actually, I used 2 masks to get the guys in the back. Coloured with Stampin' Up markers. Love the button brads.
As for having 2 pictures the same, I used 2 different cameras to see if it makes a difference. I'm not happy that my pics turn so washed out when I put them on the blog. They look great and vibrant in iPhoto.

bellas anyone?

I was thinking today that I may have bellas that you haven't seen. So I checked my Bella tag on the side index and yep, I have them hiding in my iphoto.
So here is a trio I did last spring. Ah spring.. it's been 15 degrees here for the last few days!! Yep, in January. All the snow has melted. We played in the puddles on the way home yesterday and took the long way home today. I keep reminding my son that it is really winter and the the snow will come back soon. We're still waiting to make our 1st snowman of the season.
But I digress... very far away from the spring bellas.

I need to get back to card making. or at least get to my room. I spent the night going through my whole blog list. It took well over an hour and a half. Glad I don't do that every night.

my, my, I'm a bit chatty tonight, so I'll leave you now..

Autumn bellas

I decided that I was going to dedicate tonight to getting a lot of cards done to send to my sister. I had a great start, have some great cards (which you will see later) and was on a great roll. Then I came downstairs to say goodnight to hubby (he's on midnight shift) showed him my cards, did a little blog reading and here I am! Hopefully I can make some more when I go upstairs. I'd rather pass out to tell the truth.

k, here goes...
All inks more mustard, really rust and pumpkin orange, basic grey- done with blender pens. Paper is creepy crawly.

here is Emmybella. love that retail therapy sentiment. I'm going to buy a sentiment for every bella I have. they are just so cool:} Circles on the background are from petals and polkadots.

And here is Cosmobella. how fun would it be to BE her at a party? Heck, I'd just settle for an invite to the party.. you know, someone thinks I'm THAT with it:} hangin' with the IN crowd lol

After answering a few emails between the beginning and end of this post, I'm gonna go to bed.

Thanks for looking!

feela bella

Bella anyone? Here is a bella I made for a package of cards to give to my sister in law.
I was inspired by her favorite colour combo for outfits.. black and white. Then I saw her wear a pink top and thus, the pink accent colours.:}
I heat embossed the image in black and then coloured it with a brush and ink from a mini pad. I didn't have many markers at the time. (Don't you love it when you finally have your studio or collection to the point where you don't have the NEED for things anymore? You know, in the beginning you create, but are stifled sometimes by limited supplies?)
Love the button brads. From my LSS. Can't remember who makes them and I threw away the packaging. Ribbon I think is from a dollar store. oh yes, the dots on the sides were also made before my paper piercing template. Used a ruler for the measurements.

Off to do some preparations for my class tomorrow. Hope I can finally find the dead animal smell coming from my fridge! I've searched everywhere. Probably some dot a spoiled milk behind something else!! blak. lol

baby bella

how about another bella? or two?

Here is mamabella. For a girl. She is stamped in black stazon, coloured with SU markers. Don't knwo where the designer paper came from or the ribbon (MAY ARTS?. The stamps ont he right hand side are from Michael's Dollar bin ($1.50 in Canada, why? The exchange rate is not that much!)

Below, it's Teddybella. Sentiment, ribbon and brads are from Michael's. I punched the scallop oval out of white CS, then used it as a window. It didn't show up enough for me, so I used chaulk pastels to shade in the window. The congrats was cut with scallop scissors and the red background was embossed with my square Quick Kutz die.

Thanks for looking.

Tooth Fairy kits

Here it is.. my baby. I've been working on this for days. Sorry the pictures are all together. Still trying to figure out how to float them within the post. But you get the jist..

Tooth Fairy kits.

Used the Tinkerbella stamp from Stamping Bella as the tooth fairy. She is on the tag (on the back it says, "To: From: the tooth fairy") and she is also on a charm. I stamped her with black stazon on shrink art paper, coloured with SU markers and baked in the oven for nano seconds on 400 degrees. Voila- charm. Used a necklace clasp as the charm holder. For the boy kit, I drew a tooth on shrink art paper and shrunk it down for the charm.

The tin comes from Lee Valley. It is the 33mm size watchmakers case you can get in a set of 10 in a nice aluminium case. The case can also be altered.

Inside the tin is a circle stamped with retired cheesecloth stamp (SU) in versa mark and then "Place Tooth Here" using Karen Foster mini stamps. It is then punched out with the 1 inch circle punch and adhered.

The outside of the tin is wrapped with double stitched ribbon from Michael's on the bottom and Orfray ribbon on top. The charm is then added to the ribbon on the tin. All is placed in an organza bag.

Oh yes, not shown are 2 pieces of paper:
1. A tooth journal. ... THe what tooth, when it happened, where it happened, How it happened and who was there.
2. a little certificate from the tooth fairy.... this is in recognition of _______ losing a tooth on this _____day of_____, 20___.

So there you have it. my very first huge alterable kit. Proud mama.:}

I've figured out how you can comment on the posts. Try it to see if it works.

Thanks for stopping by.
