Football?

Here is a magnet I did a few years ago. Finally had my camera and the photo at the same time.
the size is about 5x7.

The letters are from the buck store as is the Dp and the mini football. The large football is made by me and I used a versa mark pen to draw the strings and then embossed with seafoam white embossing powder.

man, I can hardly see straight right now. I've been trying to crochet some hearts. I think i may have it. Everything is a learning curve with me lately, but it is nice to be challenged. maybe I'll show you some when I get a few good ones!

And finally, my 1st born turned 5 today. That's one whole hand! He was pretty excited every time the phone rang as it was family and friends for him. Too cute. And I've had enough chocolate cupcakes for a while now.

thanks for looking,

Jolly Magnets

I borrowed my friend's Quickutz Jolly die set over the weekend and had a lovely time on Friday night cutting and creating.
I LOVE this set. But at 90 bucks a pop, it's just not on my list of acquisitions soon.:}
Here are some little magnets I made with the frame die and the bulb.
(for more ideas on this set, check out my friend's blog... www.sarahiscrafty.com

This one uses the frame die, hoho die and the trees die. Paper is current, but I don't know what it is.

This one uses the smallest bulb and the gingerpeople row. LOVE this little die. so cute. The green was done with swiss dots cuttlebug folder.

This paper is from K&Company. I think it's last year's paper? Bought the stack from Winners for 7 bucks!!!!!!! Used the inside of the frame piece for this one. A bit of glitter on the beard and fur to bling him up.

And an idea that needs some tweeking...
A picture frame that can also be an ornament.

2 problems: the holes are in the die, so the wire is in the middle of the frame. I can fix it by playing with it and adding a hole higher to wind the wire through. You need to do that b/c the wire falls when it is used as a magnet. For photo purposes, I tucked the wired under the magnet corners. But believe, me, it falls otherwise.
Problem #2: The magnet was also cut out with the frame die, so it is the same size as the frame. Good right?! No. When you tuck a wallet size picture in there, it covers the magnet. Solution, cut the frame out of heavy cardstock as the back, glue the picture into place and then cut out a magnet piece to cover the back. it was fun to play with the wire and beads that were in my stash. The nice heart is a magnet separate from this set. My daughter put it there as I was taking a picture. Nice idea. May have to look into making a paper one to put there.

that's it for now,

Valentine love

ok, it's between a brother and a sister. Love is the theme today.
These kids are having so much fun lately. It's so nice to see them interact with each other. And for my daughter to initate a lot of the play. They do have a great laugh.

I got the idea for weaving from my friend, Sarah's blog at www. sarahiscrafty.com
The designer paper is from a huge slab one of my customers gave me. I don't know who it's by, but I do know that I had previously bought some of the paper by the sheet from the LSS.
The white heart and love sentiment are chipboard with seafoam EP. This fridge magnet is for daddy's filing cabinet at owrk. Apparently, his office at his previous job only had 1 card made by my son and a mug with their pic on it from when my son was less than 3 months old. So this time, his office wil have many pics of the family.

We are smothered in snow here. I haven't seen so much in the city since the big storm of 99. Good thing we have a part of the driveway to pile it in. But I'm parked on the street and a little snowed in. Haven't even been able to gear up to go to the grocery store. That's bad. DH stops by now and then, so we're not too bad.

alrighty then, look who's been Chatty Cathy. lol

cutie pies

This is a fridge magnet I did for my son's friends. They just turned 4. It's about 6x9, I think. Bigger than a 5x7. Whatever the whole fridge magnet was. I usually cut them in half, but I had some bigger embellishments to use for this one.

Things have slowed on the creating front. Thank goodness. I just have a few picture ornaments to make for family. I'll post them when they are made. I'm enjoying taking it easy at night. I went to bed at 8:45 last night and passed out, probably before my son. For the "Late Night Stamper" that is sooo early.:}

Hope you are finding peace in this busy time of year.
Cheers,
Amanda

bad and good

Here is an example how being out of your comfort zone can lead to not so good lookin' things. AND a lesson in ,"just because you gather many favorite things together, it does not mean it will be purdy." lol

This first layout uses a paper that struck my fancy and the "SO Very" set form Stampin' Up. Ooo, me thinks, this should go well with the great picture my friend Alex took of his wife, Erika and daughter Saige.

I printed the photo to large for my comfort zone. Couldn't get enough on my page to fill it up. I also didn't want to cover the paper too much. Thought the ribbon carried the purple and flower theme and wanted to use the ribbon buckle also. Put them all together, and NOPE, shouldn't have gone there!

SO... I tore it apart and started over.. with a smaller picture. I LOVE this stamp I got at my LSS. I've used it so many times for various relationships between people. I originally bought it for my husband's birthday card. I embossed it with clear EP and got the colour from a chaulk ink. (As you can guess, I'm not upstairs with my supplies, again. SO general talk of stuff)
Chatterbox paper, Cherish stamp and ribbon from SU. flowers from "itty bitty flowers"

My friend got the little symbolism of the growing flower... ah.
Let's take a look.....

So here's a lesson in... if ya don't like it, dump it. And start over.
(there, I did it, I showed you my bad side)

Thanks for looking:}

5 kiddies

here's another fridge magnet. Actually, I think it was my 1st one!

it's of my good friend, Jen's, 3 kids and my 2. It was taken on Valentine's day this year. My how they have grown. I'll have to take another pic of all of them together. I have to say, whenever we go anywhere, and it's often, we are a force all our own!!! much fun.

I faded the colours in the photo to match the paper a little better. The stamp is from Michael's buck fifty bin. Ribbon from a quick trip to America at Target when Neve was only 2 weeks old. Flower is a prima.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to comment on the previous post. you have until tomorrow night.
