Passport wallet

Our piano teacher is going on a long trip for Christmas, so I thought a passport wallet would be a timely Christmas Present.

I had the felt leaf from Quickutz on the windowsill, so I machine sewed it on for a bit of something to look at on the front. And us canadians like to show off our Maple Leaf.

Then I decided it needed a little pocket inside for the pieces of photo ID needed to board. I also made it quite tall for the boarding passes. I hate having everything spread out in pockets and purses. This way, it is all in one place.



I cut two 15x9.5 pieces of fabric in contrasting designs. The folded sections are around 3-3.5 wide, leaving the opened wallet about 8 inches. Guess that makes the finished, closed piece 4x9.5.

I found me a black wool vest with some great embroidered flowers on it.... wait till you see what I do with it.

Craft Bazaar

Howdy!
What a busy week! My kids had their piano recital. Can I tell you how cute 3-5 year olds playing the piano are??! yes, my 3 and 5 year old take piano. It is a wonderful group, keyboard based program called
Music for Young Children . it is canadian, but is all over the world. it turns 30 next year. I can't say enough how wonderful and child based it is. Look it up if you're thinking of a piano based program for your children....

Anyhow, you didn't come here to hear me gush about that. Another night out was the craft bazaar.

I have to say, I've never made such quantities of things before. I still have a fair bit left over, but I have other opportunities to sell them. And they are done! I don't have to dread going to my room every night! :}
Now I can start some new projects I have swimming in my mind.

Key chains all in a row

I took another go at making some keychains from these great acrylic keychain holders I got from a crafty friend. (thanks)


I made a bunch from Quickutz dies, ballet, music, happy face, football.....


Then I discovered my rock star set! Jackpot! I had such fun mixing these up.




Yep, just 1 day left to make signs, etc. for the craft bazaar. I made a lot of each type of thing I'm selling. Let's hope the people like and are buying.

A bird and a song

I got some time this evening to make some cards. I guess I was in a scrappy mood, by the looks of my 5 card stash! So more to come. One at a time girls, one at a time.


This one uses Cuttlebug music embossing folder, Quickutz bird, nestabilities label die, and Stamping bella's wacky weeds. the sentiment is from a shop in Lunenburg, NS.

We're off camping for the weekend. Should be fun. Looking forward to more swimming. the kids love it. And I love them being old enough to do it.

keychains

I got nuthin' fer ya really. Went trolling thru my photos and found these keychains. Don't know if I wrote of them or not, but I'm desperate.
The images are all die cut from Quickutz. The keychain tags are from a fellow papercrafter's husband's work. I love them. And finally got some chain to fit in the holes. Thanks Viola!




It was a beauty day here today. We went for a nice walk around the neighbourhood, then attacked a pile of snow on the street that limited the parking availability. Ah, the sense of accomplishment to see that thang gone! Bring on the flowers... oh, it's only February? We still have a month or 2 of not spring weather....

Music bookmarks

I had a great weekend performing. What fun. Now I'm just downright knackered.

As a little thank you to the music director and the accompanist (the amazing 1 man orchestra), I quickly whipped up these bookmarks. I've done them before on here, but this is all I have to show ya.
Here are the covers. I used SU In Colours. The little Diva charm is from the buck store as is the little hanging frame on the blue one. I used Cuttlebug music embossing folder and then the Quickutz music notes. Popped it up, there ya go. The music on the cover is a retired Stampin' Up! background stamp done with whisper white ink.


You can see the cuttlebug music folder again on the bookmark. The sentiment is from Nova Scotia. Unmounted red rubber. Sorry, don't know who it is. The big eighth notes are also from Cuttlebug. The tassels are from ClearBags Canada ? I have a feeling it may be called something else. Handy to have.

ok, it's taken way too long to write this up and with many interruptions, I don't even know what I'm posting about anymore. lol

music bookmark

here is the bookmark I made to go with the card:



Same papers as the card in previous text. This bookmark and jacket comes from Sharon Johnson's blog- http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ Nov 9, 2007 entry. I love it as a little thank you gift.
The ribbon come from Walmart! by the metre or yard if you're from the imperial system. The music score image is a retired SU block.


I made the charm using shrink art. The notes are the Quickutz notes. There are 2 in the single die, just as it is in the charm. I tried to cut through the shrink art paper, but it wouldn't work, didn't cut all the way through. I really wanted to make a smaller charm than the previous one, so I used Su scallop circle to punch around it. Coloured the back of the notes with marker and shrunk. You like?

Thanks and a music charm

I signed me and the kids up for a music class this week. We've never done anything organized before with a specific time, so this was all new to us. I had to wake Neve up a few times from her nap, but we all survived. Luckily she LOVES music.
This is the thank you card for the teacher. i also made a bookmark I'll show you tomorrow. Can't give away all my goodies at once.lol


Paper is by SU, Thanks-Quickutz, the charm took a little playing around. More on that later.

I also played around with how to attach it to the card. Finally decided to colour a paper flower. Only had my ink pad as I lent my markers out. Didn't like the effect, so I put the flower on a piece of paper and washed it with a paintbrush. Still wasn't too excited about it, even though there were hints of brown in the ink. But when I took the flower off the paper, I got this lovely washed out flower imprint. I punched it with the SU scallop circle and cut between the scallops to make a flower. Added a bit o bling in the middle for when the charm is gone.


The charm was a fun process. I wanted to see if the eighth notes from Cuttlebug would shrink well. Then I decided to try the reverse image. I used the Quickutz scallop circle die around the notes and outlined it. Shrunk it down, there ya go. THe notes did ok. They are tiny, one of them came out with it's legs crossed so when I tried to open them, they cracked. now I have a couple of quarter notes. :} (music humour). Oh yes, that splotch you see behind it is a removable glue dot. I forgot to take it off before I took the picture. These dots are great for this kind of stuff. I made another charm for the bookmark with the Quickutz die. Show you that later.

Elegant notes

This card is a compilation of a few things musical..
Background is SU retired musical score Background stamp, text is from SU, Elegant Notes set. and the eighth notes on the bottom are from Quickutz Squeeze.

Not much to say tonight. Loving this weather. The kids and I have been enjoying the yard. Last year, my daughter was still crawling, so we avoided it. I LOVE this growing thing. She's starting to make 2 -3 word sentences also. Communication is great!
