another cupcake

Here I am between masses at church, hooked into their wi-fi. Our phone line is down at home! Oh the horror! the horror!! I have to go home to no internet! gasp! LOL Hope the rain stops so we can go outside.

here's another cupcake card I made for our choir director. It was the 1st one I made of the cupcake designs. The card base is from Ikea. The cupcake is one I drew and cut out. The candle is from Michael's. Numbers is cuttlekids die.

That's about it. Looking forward to sewing Neve's dress tomorrow. May even get to it today at nap time. The kids spent the whole day from 9:30-7pm at the sailing club yesterday. Everyone is a little wiped today. We had weather from sunny and fine to raging wind storms where the boats were all blowing over on shore and there were big crashing waves and swirls of water on the lake. Leaves blowing in huge gusts! Quite an event. My husband went out in the motor boat to rescue two sailors that got caught in the storm. Yes, quite the adventure!

glitter cupcakes anyone?

Here is a fun card I came up with....(one of 4 I made yesterday. yeah!)

I've had my eye on various cupcake dies, but there is always something that I don't like about them. So I cut out my own last night. Pre-glittered paper is my friend! I have to get more colours. The cupcake liner is pre-corrugated paper. you could use a paper crimper. The candle is from Michael's. It said it was fence pickets, but when I saw it, I thought CANDLES! I coloured them with markers.

The numbers are Cuttlekids. I have to shim it a bit to make it work in my cuttlebug. I wanted a birthday number, but already on hand, so I made it a twenty something? Heck, I'll settle for thirty something. Flattery. What else? Oh yes, the cuttlebug dots embossing folder for the middle patch and the card base is a premade one from Target I bought a long time ago. Looks as if I had matching brads too. score! It comes with pink, so I covered the pink dots for the boy card. And finally, the sentiment is from the buck 50 bin at Michael's.

ellie, ellie, elephant

This card took a long time to put together. i knew what i wanted as a layout, but I couldn't get the papers right. I changed the CS, elephant base and front, the square, the letters, etc. Finally got some things that worked at the same time.

The elephant is cuttlbugkids, letters- Quickutz Moxie, and the sentiment from Michael's.

I scored some great stuff at the sale today. Very exciting. i ran out the door after church and took the least travelled route I could think of. lol Can't wait to play. Hoping the kids go to bed on time with the new time change. Going to take them to the park to wear them out.

golf anyone??

I had a huge card making weekend with my sister in law. 42 elaborate birth announcement cards and 21 thank you cards and 1 simple scrapbook page layout. Whew!! But it was fun and gave an accomplished feeling.

This card was requested for a friend of theirs who is turning 40. He is also a golf player and I was excited to finally use my golf ball and tee Quickutz die that I've had for some time.
Paper is Stampin up, number is Cuttlekids, oval: nestabilities. Cuttlebug folders and a few eyelets. Voila.

I did get to go to a scrapbook store called Scrapbook Quebequois. Great stuff and great prices. I found only 1 french sentiment which was a little disappointing. It's a get well soon one.

Well, after being in the car for 8 hours for a 5 hour car trip, I'm ready to go to bed.

She's turning 2

yeah, lame title. This card is for my niece, Lauren. She's turning 2 next week, but we'll be away, so I'll have to put it in the mail soon. She's only 3 months older than my daughter. Wish we lived closer. They would have a blast.

Realized there isn't a lot of stamping on this one. And it has a polka dot theme. Elephant and #2 are Cuttlekids dies. The #2
is stamped with dots from the Dots and Paisley set from SU, then embossed with pink EP. The wagon is also done in pink embossing powder. The stamp is from Stamping Bella! yes, it's true. One of the 1st images I ever ordered. Weird eh? I had to cut the handle, it was in the wrong direction.

What else? Oh yes, background: Base is a sparkle card from a box I bought at Michael's last fall, bottom vellum is cuttlebug circle plate, soft sky is cuttlebug swiss dots. I tore the papers for some interest.
