teen tulle

Knock, Knock....
Anybody there? thanks for coming back.
It's been a crazy few weeks and it's almost over! It's all been good. 5 craft fairs/shows and every one of them had crazed mitten wantin' moms. I stopped making mens and childrens and just made mom mitts. I must have made over 150 pairs and I still have about 20 to make before this week is over. I'm loving it. Sweater mittens rock! Oh, and the singing at private parties, malls, social clubs, corporate dos and general fa la la-ing where ever merriment is requested.

So today, I finished up another order for a tulle skirt for a pre-teen. After making this, I may make a few more.

One of the moms in our group used to make real tutus and dance costumes for shows/competitions. She showed me some tricks of the trade which has me excited to try more. Did you know it's a ll the rage right now? Tulle skirts over leggings. Where have I been?

I'll take this time to wish you a Happy Christmas! I may get back here, who knows? I know I won't be sewing anything new until after Christmas. I have a few ideas I can't wait to try. If my camera cooperates, if the planets align and the sunlight is good... I'll take more pictures.

gel pen wallet

so, um, like, I decided to do some wallets for older kids. Since crayolas wouldn't cut it, I decided on gel pens. And some artist canvass so that they can decorate their own.


this one is for my niece, who is quite artistic. I can't wait to see what she does with it.


It is an inch smaller in width than the crayon wallet and I turned the pockets around with a smaller flap for the closure.


I have one to doodle on myself, the prototype, You know, the one where you decided to try something different and it didn't quite work out? But it's good for experimenting.

And look what we were greeted with this morning....

The kids asked why I gave the squirrel an O Henry bar. I said they were nuts to think I would give a chocolate bar away, and to a squirrel! I know he didn't get it from this house! I ate them all.t

We get all kinds of critters taking rest around here. Well, city critters. My sister just moved to a more woodsy area and looked out the window, thinking her neighbours put up their Christmas decorations a little early. It was a real deer, eating the grass!

embellishment

So here's another idea to perk up a gift for a teen...


I couldn't resist this lovely purple, leather book. It looks and feels so nice. ahhhh.
But I wanted to perk it up a bit. I used the rhinestones from an iron on. I wasn't sure about ironing on leather, so I used crystal effects to glue the stones on instead. It wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. B/C it was an iron on, the jewels were stuck to the plastic paper from the top. So I just turned them over and dabbed Crystal effects on it with a stick pin. Laid it on the journal and waited for it to dry. then I removed the plastic. voila. Embellished leather bound journal.

YOu ROck!!!

My niece celebrated her 10th birthday last month and I was looking for this stamp set after I saw it on someone's blog. It is from Inkadinkado. It has a drum kit, some skulls, rockstar and the images here. LOVE IT!
