A boy and a truck

Well, I haven't been in my stamp room for a few nights. And I even got my Papertrey order today with the new cardstock, ribbon and DP. No brain to create. I'm expecting my SU order tomorrow, so maybe I can get some inspiration from the Easter Stamps.

So here is what I have to share. I took these pictures of my son this past summer. (seeing him in no shirt on this cold day of windchill of -28C makes me shiver). These trucks are parked outside of the distillery district. He was in a funny mood and played along with the camera snapping mother. Just a little ham No?
I really would like to scrapbook this series. I have more shots, but I don't know what kinds of embellishments to put with it. No idea of a theme or where to even start. I just LOVE the feeling of the photos and the colours of the trucks.
SO, If you have any ideas, please share! :}

photo cube

I wanted to make something for my DH's new office at his new job. So this photo cube fit the bill. Actually, it will probably be a pen holder.
I used cork backed coasters from the dollar store. The lovely cropadile did a fantastic job of punching through those babies.
One of the papers is from Scenic Route, the other from a pad I bought at the LSS.
I printed the photos around 2.5 as the coasters were just over 3.5. I also made the photos sepia toned to create a sense of cohesiveness, conformity. I can't think of the correct word right now.
I looked through my shoe box of rub ons and stickers and was tickled to find just the right sayings. See, there is a reason for buying those things to sit around. Imagine having to go to the store at 11 pm to find something that would work! You must have them on hand, at home. Waiting for you. lol

Instead of using the favoured ribbon that is done, I wanted to make it a little more manly (?) so I used twine to make a blanket stitch down the sides. I still have to figure out how to finish it off inside. Do you put a bottom on these things? Or just insert a can?

Anyhow, it was fun and easy to make. I think I'll make a few more.

altered tins

Here are a few more tins I altered.
The first was a Father's Day prezzie for my dad. Inside the tin is a dvd of homemade movies of the grandchildren. Every 6 months or so, we compile oll the movies onto a dvd and send it to my parents, as they live far away from us.

The paper is.. I don't know. Surprise! On the back of the diamond paper, the print is similar to the word paper ont he tin. The print is just much bigger. The letters in the scallop circle are done with my Moxie Alphabet from Quick Kutz. The "for you" circle tag is from Stampin' Up. I think it was a hostess set.

The next tin was a prezzie for my mom. The flowers are covered chipboard with the front and flip side of paper from Melanie's tin in a previous post. The centre of the flowers are covered with Crystal effects for the bubble look.

inside the tin as an accordian album of the grand children. Various Chtterbox papers were used. I love these papers. They look delicate. THe "Siblings" label is Moxie Alphabet and the flowers are also from a die set for the Quick Kutz Revolution. I don't own the revolutin (yet), but bought the big dies and punched them one at a time. It was a little extra work, but ok for the project. most of the words are clear stickers from the dollar store. I've also seen them in LSS.

Well, 2 posts in one day to make up for the missing ones.:}
