little green elf

Hi ho,
We're taking it easy this morning after a late night watching Canada day fireworks. We had friends over at the sailing club. The kids had a great time. After they went home, we sat on the dock and watched fireworks from the city to the east and fireworks from another club to the west. Was lovely indeed.

Here is my work in progress..

he's from my new book Wool Toys and Friends

Here's a little tip:
If you're going to make a needle felted softie, don't use a hand painted braid of wool. When you wrap around and around, the variances of shades does not lend to blending very well. Yep, use a solid colour. I need to work on getting the little belly and chunky legs on top. Maybe there's something deep inside of me that's trying so hard to not make another belly and chunky thighs. I'm trying to get rid of my own.!!:}

I like his bendy limbs, but need to work on the shape of his hat. it's too gnomey.
Doesn't he look darling?

Tomorrow,
crayon rubbings from the yard game

Thanks for looking,
Amanda
