Christmas anyone??

First off, let me apologize for the terrible photo quality. I took this waaay back, when I didn't conceive that I might want to share it later. I usually take pics of my work to remember layouts and designs. Not to put on a blog. But I really like this card. So here ya go. If it makes you queasy, look away!!!

Now back to the card....

Another SU retired set. This one I HAD to have b/c it is a 2 step stamp. The green tree base, with the brown trunk, then the polka dots. There are other ways to dress the tree... tinsel garland, word garland, and a twisty thingy. ALL very cool. The "be merry" is also SU. I really should go to my studio when I write these things up so I can give you the proper names. but it's too late and I don't feel like climbing the stairs! lol

Tree base is chaulk ink. Then I coloured the spots indiviually with my ....ink spots!! to match the designer paper on the left. (I didn't have any markers at the time, so had to plan on what shapeink spots (cat's eye, dew drop, square) would be able to fit in the middle without messing up the other spots! lol. I've come so far in such little time:})

The ribbon is May Arts (?) and the star brad at the top of the tree is from Absolute Dollar (the most amazing embellishment/scrapbook section). The red paper on the right is also from there and has various sized embossed circles. I have seen this paper sold by the sheet in various scrapbook stores.

There are so many b/c I created them for my 1st swap... in the middle of April. Just what you want to receive:} And here you are having to read about it at the end of August! Oh well, maybe I'll fit Halloween in there soon:}

Thanks for looking,
AP

Altered tin and matching card

okay then.. here is a set I did as a b-day gift.

The tin was a cookie cutter tin from Absolute Dollar.(just a buck, wish they had more than 3 to buy) Don't remember the paper, but it is double sided. Thus, any stripes you see is the back side. The letters on the top of the tin are from Quick Kutz Moxie Alphabet. The nameplate from Sizzix.

THe card uses the same paper. Circle punches from Marvy Uchida and sentiment from Stampin' Up.
The flower is chipboard covered with the paper and then Crystal Effects was applied for the shiny, bubble look.

I wanted to put something inside the tin, so I made tags for various occasions using the scallop square punch. I didn't have the inside square punch for this project, but I bought one soon after! Also, I did it before the purchase of my beloved cropadile!! yes, I had to go to the basement, poke the holes and use a rubber mallet to pound those eyelets in. It was 1am in the morning. I dare not wake any sleeping children!! or daddy! The tags are from Stampin' Up. Sorry, name of it is in my studio on the 3rd floor. not going there right now:}

Well, it is just 1 am here again. I better get to bed. Gotta play momma in the morning:}

night,
Amanda

baby bella

how about another bella? or two?

Here is mamabella. For a girl. She is stamped in black stazon, coloured with SU markers. Don't knwo where the designer paper came from or the ribbon (MAY ARTS?. The stamps ont he right hand side are from Michael's Dollar bin ($1.50 in Canada, why? The exchange rate is not that much!)

Below, it's Teddybella. Sentiment, ribbon and brads are from Michael's. I punched the scallop oval out of white CS, then used it as a window. It didn't show up enough for me, so I used chaulk pastels to shade in the window. The congrats was cut with scallop scissors and the red background was embossed with my square Quick Kutz die.

another OSW

Look at me.. sneaking off from cleaning, in the middle of the day to say hello! The kiddies are out with a sitter so I can tackle the clutter. I think I make a bigger mess before I get it all sorted. Are you like that? Working in one room, bring something to another, then start on a corner there, bring something to another room, start there. Before you know it, the whole house looks like a bomb hit and the kids will be back in 30 minutes! Guess that working on a deadline thing works for all sorts:}

Anyhow, here's another example of the one sheet wonder from the previous post.

This set was offered in a SU summer mini 2006, (I think, it was before my time of discovery. correct me if I'm wrong.)
The colour combo I LOVE and it was so easy to put together with the various punches and sentiments.

I did this set while attending one of Sarah's classes. THanks Sarah. An inspiration to all... so all things are Stampin' Up products, except for the ribbon and little flower charm.

Sorry I don't have pictures close up. I was in a hurry to capture them before I sold them at an open house. They sold like hot cakes. Thanks girls!!

Must get back to cleaning. Thanks for joining my little break...

One Sheet Wonder

Late posting tonight. I just finished putting together an Ikea Trofast shelving unit for the Toys, Toys, Toys!!!! With 2 children, you get many TOYS! I think they grow overnight. TOo many Toys. I still don't think we have enough storage for them. I've moved a few things around the living room and the kids have had fun discovering the old toys, so I CAN'T throw any of it away!!

Anyhow,
here is a fun project called a One Sheet Wonder (OSW). OSW is when you take a sheet of cardstock and stamp all over it. You can use images that don't need colouring, or ones that do need colouring. This is one from SU, is one of the first sets that I ever bought. HAD to have it. It is retired. Surprise! Then couldn't make it work for the longest time..until now.. with this colour pattern.

Once the Cardstock is stamped up to your liking, you cut the paper in different shapes from a template and then use the cut pieces to make the card. I also used the same idea for a take out box that I got from Joann's Craft store in the US.
THe Thank You sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the tags are from Stampin Up. Ribbon is from michael's and I can't remember where the flower is from.

no pics

Hi there,

no pics or projects tonight, I was out for an info night for new Stampin Up Demonstrators. Yep, bit the bullet and signed up to host workshops and sell thier products. Wanna host a workshop? Am I crazy? It is such a fun company and fun products.

So if you're wondering how I will be spending my time during this extended mat leave ( it will seem so real when the kiddies go back to school next week), Stampin Up and stamping will be the answer.

Cheers,
AP

kiddie b-day card

How about a card.. been heavy into the tin thing, so here's a card I did for my niece and a friend's daughter who were both turning 1 within days of each other.

The stamps from SU Very Punny set were stamped in black stazon ink and coloured with SU markers. The green layer of CS was goosebumped or embossed with the Daisy from Quick Kuts. The mat circles were from SU retired Petal and Tags set. (why do I have so much retired stuff?)
The no.1 was the MOxie Alphabet from Quick Kutz and primas were added with a brad.

In the 2nd photo, I used the same layout. Instead of embossing the green or dark blue strip, I used vera mark to stamp the Polka dots and Petals stamps for texture. Also used the 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch punches. Finally, instead of a prima, I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from SU, "It's Your Birthday" set.

1st hair cut kit

Look on your fridge. How long has that magnet been there? Where are the curls you cut off your child's 1st haircut? With the picture, sitting in a box? In a drawer? Well, here is a way to show it and pretty up your fridge for years!

It's the 1st Haircut Kit.. sibling of the Tooth Fairy Kit.

Using the 53mm watchmaker tin from Lee Valley,I traced a circle around the picture, cut it and adhered it to the cover. Then cut the info insert, "First haircut". Be sure to make the left side of the circle straight so that it will be a card. Filled in the info inside. I put the curls inside a little plastic baggie. Wrapped the tin with double sided ribbon from Michael's, put a magnet on the back and there you have it. A keepsake of a precious moment.

Wine Glass Charms

Here is another project that has been done, but new and fun for me.

These wine glass charms will help your guests remember which glass is theirs and how far they travelled away from their glass since the last drink!

Stamps are from retired SU Mostly Flowers set, except for the round flower, $1.50 stamp from Michael's. Some Su inks and chaulk inks were used on Shrink art paper (I LOVE this stuff) and shrunk. BTW, I used the large hole punch from the cropadile. It keeps the right sized hole to insert the jewelry piece once it shrinks. Beads are from Walmart and put on an earring hoop.

I have made a few more sets from other stamp sets, but gave them away before taking pics. there are so many possibilities for these. I can't wait to try some Christmas ones!

Tooth Fairy kits

Here it is.. my baby. I've been working on this for days. Sorry the pictures are all together. Still trying to figure out how to float them within the post. But you get the jist..

Tooth Fairy kits.

Used the Tinkerbella stamp from Stamping Bella as the tooth fairy. She is on the tag (on the back it says, "To: From: the tooth fairy") and she is also on a charm. I stamped her with black stazon on shrink art paper, coloured with SU markers and baked in the oven for nano seconds on 400 degrees. Voila- charm. Used a necklace clasp as the charm holder. For the boy kit, I drew a tooth on shrink art paper and shrunk it down for the charm.

The tin comes from Lee Valley. It is the 33mm size watchmakers case you can get in a set of 10 in a nice aluminium case. The case can also be altered.

Inside the tin is a circle stamped with retired cheesecloth stamp (SU) in versa mark and then "Place Tooth Here" using Karen Foster mini stamps. It is then punched out with the 1 inch circle punch and adhered.

The outside of the tin is wrapped with double stitched ribbon from Michael's on the bottom and Orfray ribbon on top. The charm is then added to the ribbon on the tin. All is placed in an organza bag.

Oh yes, not shown are 2 pieces of paper:
1. A tooth journal. ... THe what tooth, when it happened, where it happened, How it happened and who was there.
2. a little certificate from the tooth fairy.... this is in recognition of _______ losing a tooth on this _____day of_____, 20___.

So there you have it. my very first huge alterable kit. Proud mama.:}

I've figured out how you can comment on the posts. Try it to see if it works.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sailboat

ok, one last post before I browse my favorite blogs and bed...

This is from a Stampin Up reitred set called woodstamps, (I think, have to check in the morning.) It is stamped on kraftpaper with black stazon ink, coloured with SU markers and the sails with the white pen (from SU, sorry will check that name tomorrow also. too late at night for my brain to remember things)

I inserted some eyelets using my cropadile (love it) and made some slip knots with some hemp twine I had lying around. The striped boat is from the Quick Kutz die.

Thanks for not commenting on my incoherence:}
Night,
AP

Rubber boot

Love this Green Thumb set from PapertreyInk. The quality of the clear stamps is most excellent. Each stamp set comes with many stamps to inspire your creativity. And sentiments to boot!!

Inks from Stampin up Bold Brights. Blue strip on the side has been embossed by Quick Kutz flower, punched with SU slot punch and organza ribbon threaded though. The little charm came from the Dollarama.

I wanted to use a sentiment for this, but didn't want to use another colour or layer, so I mimicked the sheerness of the organza by putting the sentiment on some vellum with black stazon ink and attached with brads.

Still trying to figure out how to layout the pictures differently. Don't like how I have the pics floating at the top. Anyone know how to change it or make a textwrap?

Thanks for stopping by..

Welcome

Hi there,

Welcome to my blog. It's a place to show the things that come out of my head and have been touched by my hands. Finally. Sometimes it sits there for days before I can find the time to do it.

There will be many transformations over the next little while. If you are a stamper, it may be a while before I get a card with all of the materials listed. I have so much stuff that I don't remember where it came from. I'll list what I know. Stay with me... If you think my work is worthy enough to add me to your blogroll, please, just let me know.

If you are family or friend, thanks for stopping by. Hope you like what you see.

Thanks for joining my adventure... let's go for a ride....

Amanda

OK, after much fiddling, I think I may be able to get this thing going.....

yeah, it worked!

here's my latest bella (love them)- Cosmobella. just used SU Wild Wasabi, QuickKutz martini die made into a stamp with their foam system, a few brads and the "cheers" stamp is also from Stamping Bella.

Here's to the beginning of my blog!!

CHEERS!!!!!!!!!
