damask frame

I got this idea from Becky Oehlers at

I changed up the colour and had a different damask set from inkadinkado. Sorry for the dark photos. I missed my chance to get it in the sunlight this afternoon. I wanted to show you tonight.



To repeat her directions:
1. paint frame (from Michael's) with (green) paint. a few light coats. Go with the grain of the wood
2. stamp image with versa mark. you may do all of them if you work quickly.
3. heat emboss with clear embossing powder
4. paint light paint over top and wipe immediately with a paper towel. I wet a corner of the towel to go over the embossed parts to remove some of the paint.

i still need to sand the edges to distress it a bit more.
I'll be doing this project in the class I'm teaching on Sunday. If you're coming, I'll have a few more colours you can choose from. If you want a specific colour, email me your wishes.

Baroque butterfly

We're back. Yippee. Nice to be home. I miss the king size bed though:}

Here is a card made with my new Inkadoo stamp set. I love this one and went back after my initial shop to get it. I imagined a card stamped with fun flock on it. Well, my 1st attempt is needing some attention. i don't like fun flock. It's stickier than glitter! What was I thinking? lol

Anyhow, here is my next attempt. Embossing. I can handle embossing. It took over an hour to set this card together. Glad I bought the butterfly punch by Martha Stewart. it saved the card I think. ribbon slide by SU, ribbon, IDK (I don't know) I have a few other techniques I want to play with. I don't recall seeing one of them, so I'm excited to try it out. Tomorrow though. have to conduct the choir rehearsal tonight. No time to play.

Here's another card that took an hour to figure out.. as simple as it is. Sometimes i just get too complicated and go back to just basic. wanted to mat with this silver paper I had and stamp the sentiment on it with brown EP. Well, when I tried, it just wouldn't melt and crackled the paper. So I tried the EP on cardstock. It wouldn't melt, just got puffy! I bought puffy EP by mistake. oh well, it will work on the reindeer. lol

Sky blue cardstock, brown stazon, silver embossing powder. Stamp set by Inkadinkadoo. The info is upstairs. Promise to let you know what it is. Awesome sets they have.

I need to take a better picture. The colours look much better person.
